Our Woodchip is sustainably sourced from timber near and around the farm.

It is made up of a blend of soft and hardwood bark chips using the whole tree, it is 100% natural, and it has not been treated.

The woodchip can be used to:

  • Aid drainage
  • Chicken runs, they love scratching around in it!
  • Other outside pet areas
  • Natural looking paths keeping it mud free
  • Areas around raised beds to protect ground.
  • Helps with weed suppression over a large area.

The ideal depth for pet areas and paths would be between 50-100mm, do allow a 10% reduction for settlement.

One bulk bag will cover approximately 10-12m² at a depth of 50mm.

Note, our woodchip is a similar looking product to play area woodchip but is not certified to be used for children’s play area.

The bags are around 730 litres measuring 90cm x 90cm x 90cm.

We have had several bags of the mulch this year on two occasions. Time will tell, but it seems to have achieved the soil improvement we were after and settled down nicely. The guys at AF have been excellent - knowledgeable, helpful, great value and accommodating. I miscalculated our delivery dates, but they readily rearranged at short notice so as not to disappoint. Delivery was spot on and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and will purchase again.

Dear Team (especially Tom!) Thank you very much for your kind delivery on Thursday, much appreciated. Your mulch is incredibly good, the best of the best! My friends buy from you and highly recommend your good selves. Your communication and customer service are first class. Kevin was very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Initially it looked like my order was out of reach as I am beyond your radius for half a dozen bags. However, the keen eyed Tom was pro-active and gave me a call out of the blue when I had given up hope! He kindly cut me a deal on the delivery charge so that we could go ahead to my great relief. I am working with my neighbours who will require a larger delivery than me so hopefully I will see you again in the not too distant future. Kind regards Neil Golledge

Apsley Farms Soil Improving Mulch was added to our newly planted front garden last year which was an absolute picture with its first flowering of our flowers & shrubs etc. We are convinced this was down to the fact of having 3 Large Soil Improving Mulch, even the Couriers dropping off parcels would comment on our front garden
