Bought a large bag of woodchips and soil improver mulch for allotment garden at the end of year (2024) in order to put the garden to bed for winter. It was a great decision. The mulch kept weeds completely at bay in the growing beds and the woodchips kept the paths free of weeds for months. The delivery driver was really kind. She craned both bags directly into my allotment plot and was careful not to damage existing plants.

We are really pleased with the large mulch bag delivery by Neil of Aspley Farm… we had an interesting chat, seems that the company is very well run and looks after both it’s products and it’s staff. It was delivered in an impressive truck with cantilevered crane.
Previously, to stop weeds, we used weed fabric covered with bark… but although it looks good, it does not improve the soil and health of plants… so, this year, after neighbours recommended Aspley Farm mulch, we we’ve bought a large bag and spread it across several beds to a depth of about 3″. Logically, it should be better… it certainly looks the part.
