Our Multi-Purpose Top Soil is perfect for all general garden use. It can be for all those different jobs needed throughout the gardening year.

The main uses include:

  • Laying turf
  • Lawn dressing
  • Pots and potting on
  • Creating new flowerbeds and borders
  • Filling raised beds.
  • Topping up boarders.

The Topsoil that we have in stock has been screened and had all traces of stones and debris has been removed. A small about of grit remains in the soil to help aid drainage.

It is peat and waste free and for the best results combine it with our Soil Improving Mulch to give those plants, vegetables and flowers the perfect root base. We would recommend mixing 20% Mulch with 80% Top Soil for the best growing medium.

Each bag is delivered is approximately 730 litres which weighs about 1 tonne.

It is free delivery within 30 miles of the farm and will be delivered using our vans with hiab so we can get onto those gravel driveways!

Hello So we received our delivery yesterday and following on from our conversation earlier today, I just wanted to say what great service we had from Neil, your delivery driver! We have regular deliveries and normally the products get dropped at the front of our driveway...apparently that's as far as they can drop bulk items, but it would be fair to say Neil proved them wrong!! nicely tucked down our driveway to allow access for our vehicles. This large bag of delicious mulch is a real winner at all times of the year, but especially in the winter months when it’s best applied following the end of the autumn displays, to be ready for the coming spring. Simply order, open, apply and then sit back to await the splendid results. You could say that it’s truly a ‘Man-bag for all seasons’ and when applied ‘deep & crisp and even’ it removes the need to ‘hoe hoe hoe’ throughout the Christmas period. A real Christmas Cracker....!! (groan!)

Apsley Farm Mulch is proving popular at my allotment in Southampton. It helps to replenish soil fertility and give a good crop of food and veg. I have been using it regularly in the garden too - if you have not tried it yet, give it a go.
